Chef Carolyn Flinn
|
|
From the Hotel Greenbriar to the Sea Grill in Rockefeller Plaza, Chef Carolyn Flinn has perfected her culinary talents in some of the top kitchens in the world.
Her Journey began at the renowned Hotel Greenbriar in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The net stop was the famed Four Seasons Restaurant in Manhattan. Under the tutelage of Chef Christian Albin and Seppi Rengilli, Carolyn completed the Four Season’s formal apprenticeship program. From there, Carolyn worked at the five-star Hotel Scwhiezerhof in Bern, Switzerland, and also explored the epicurean culture in Italy, France and Austria.
Upon returning to the states and her roots in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Carolyn took a teaching position at The Restaurant School in Philadelphia. While teaching was gratifying, Carolyn yearned to be back in the kitchen and returned to New York City. There, she held the prestigious Executive Chef position at Restaurant Associates for nearly 10 years. In this capacity, Carolyn developed innovative, exciting menus and oversaw all aspects of food preparation in the private dining room of the Time Life Building, The Hemisphere Club and the world class Sea Grill at Rockefeller Plaza.
Looking to expand her talents, Carolyn embarked on a new project – designing and creating the concept for a waterfront restaurant in Weehawken. Opened in 1989, Carolyn served as Executive Chef at the 8,000 square-foot Arthur’s Landing for three years.
With this accomplishment completed, Carolyn gravitated back to Manhattan and Restaurants Associates. There, she had the privilege to open a new state-of-the-art Trustees Dining Room at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. From there, Carolyn later was promoted to her largest venue, Executive Chef of The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
After subsequently moving to Philadelphia, Carolyn freelanced at The Philadelphia Art Museum for special events. She also branched out on her own and operated a personal professional chef company in Monmouth County.
In the Spring of 2007, Carolyn joined the staff of Deal Golf & Country Club, Deal, New Jersey as Executive Chef.
On a personal note, Carolyn lives in Brielle with her son, Theodore.
